The Door County Breeze is held in Ephraim, WI on the weekend closest to the 4th of July. Ephraim is located on Green Bay and the regatta meets at the Ephraim visitor’s center. On Friday there is a fun sail where windsurfers tour the area islands as a group.
On Saturday and Sunday there is course racing, with a Saturday dinner at the site for competitors and their families.
Many racers stay at the Aqualand campground, where an area of sites is set aside each year for the regatta. There are many hotels, condos, and cottages available as well. Early reservations will have the best selection.
The Door County area has many 4th of July celebrations and in general there is a fireworks show in a different town each night. There are lots of shops and restaurants as well as bike trails in the Peninsula State Park. Families may also enjoy taking the ferry to Washington island for the day.
If you are interested in a cruise on the water you can also rent a pontoon boat or go for a parasail ride or catamaran cruise.
